A Once-in-a-Lifetime Photographic & Cultural Experience
Imagine photographing the raw beauty and ancient spirit of the Australian outback alongside world-renowned photographer Ken Duncan.
This is not simply a photography tour - it is a deeply immersive journey into the heart of Australia: its vast, timeless landscapes and the living culture of our First Nations people.
Highly sought after and widely acclaimed, this exclusive tour gives you rare access to some of Ken’s most cherished outback locations. Over seven unforgettable days, you’ll experience unparalleled photographic opportunities, creative inspiration, and meaningful cultural connection in the western desert region of the Northern Territory.
But don’t just take our word for it — see testimonials from past participants at the bottom of this page.
Discover Places Hidden from the Crowds
This is not a standard outback itinerary.
Ken will guide you to sacred sites and remote locations rarely seen by visitors - places he has formed deep connections with over decades, often shared with him by Indigenous custodians of the land.
These extraordinary environments offer truly unique photographic opportunities, far beyond the reach of typical travel experiences.
June is a superb time for bird photography in Central Australia and this region is a bird lover’s paradise. The tour coincides with increased bird activity across the region, offering opportunities to photograph a wide variety of species in dramatic desert landscapes.
With patience and good fortune, you may encounter the magnificent Black Cockatoo, along with many other native birds that thrive in this environment - a rewarding addition to the outback photographic experience.
You may also encounter wild brumbies and camels in this area, plus goannas and other reptiles.
Learn Directly from a Master Photographer
Imagine having Ken Duncan beside you as you photograph the magic of the outback.
With a maximum of six participants, this tour ensures a highly personalised experience.
Ken will work closely with you in the field, sharing practical guidance, creative insight, and thoughtful feedback to help refine your technique and artistic vision. Whether you’re capturing sweeping landscapes, subtle details, or dramatic light, you’ll benefit at every step from Ken’s decades of experience.
Drone Photography
Drones cannot be flown in Ormiston Gorge or Standley Chasm, but are permitted in most of the other locations you will visit on this tour.

Here’s what a few past participants had to say:
“…There was an incredible mix of photographic opportunities and also cultural events. The accommodation was excellent… Ken has a fantastic ability to put people at ease, quickly assess where they are in their photography journey and then guide them to the next level. I learned a great deal in that week and I now feel so much more confident in operating my camera and also thinking about the composition of a shot.”
D. Obrien, Sydney
“The Outback Exposure trip with Ken Duncan and team, was truly the trip of a lifetime. Being taken to various of Ken's iconic photo location shoots at the crack of dawn was certainly well worth it when we arrived…The sunsets were equally awesome. Ken patiently and kindly gave his expertise and advice to each of us individually…Pam kept us well fed always with her magnificent food, while Jessica was brilliant as an enthusiastic, organizer and cheer leader….It was also wonderful to have interaction with several local indigenous communities and learn some of their ways and craft… truly one of the highlights or best events of my life so far”
J. Love, South Australia
“Ken has an amazing ability to help a group gel and function very positively. He was generous of his time and knowledge to all. I personally was very happy with both the accommodations and meals. The locations Ken took us to were awesome and there was an element of flexibility with daily events that was unusual in a group tour. The friendships forged on the trip were wonderful and it was amazing to see all ages and skill levels getting along together.”
