Photograph Abundant Bird life

June is a superb time for bird photography in Central Australia and this region is a bird lover’s paradise. The tour coincides with increased bird activity across the region, offering opportunities to photograph a wide variety of species in dramatic desert landscapes.

With patience and good fortune, you may encounter the magnificent Black Cockatoo, along with many other native birds that thrive in this environment - a rewarding addition to the outback photographic experience.

You may also encounter wild brumbies and camels in this area, plus goannas and other reptiles.

Drone Photography

Drones cannot be flown in Ormiston Gorge or Standley Chasm, but are permitted in most of the other locations you will visit on this tour.

Schedules remain flexible to follow the light, allowing time for spontaneous stops and extended sessions at sunrise and sunset. You’ll have the freedom to explore, experiment, and truly immerse yourself in the evolving landscapes of the desert.
